PINKY Jha, the unassuming but strong-willed mother-of-two caught our attention when she finished the 12-stage,12-day ’The 60’ of the Virtual Race Across America (VRAAM) in just four days. Two months hence, the 40-year-old has achieved another feat. Jha is now the first cyclist from the country to finish the 10,000m climb in Everesting or vEveresting- a cycling challenge where the rider has to ascend 8.848 m (the height of Mount Everest). It took her a total of 46 hours and 40 mins to complete 445 km. Jha – who credits her success to her team that ensured she was well-fed and up to accomplish the difficult task at hand – also revealed that she had to start all over again after reaching 1,800m.”If my application hadn’t failed, the actual race time would have been a lot lesser than recorder.” We say say, Ms. Jha, congratulations on a job well done!
